Fluid Mechanics

Fluid Mechanics is an athletic educational development company.   That means it’s our job to understand every facet of athletic training – from the impact of micro-positions on force to the effect of emotion on the brain.  Then, we put it all together into a development system that is tested among the world’s top athletes.

How did it start? In 1987, founder John B. Waldman  – a world-ranked swimmer, US Master’s Swimming World Record holder, and former coach of a National Record Breaking relay team – embarked on a journey to create the world’s most high-tech athletic training system. 

The system is based on the scientific coaching methods of Dr. James E. Counsilman – “The World’s Best Athletic Coach” and Waldman’s personal mentor during and after his college career.  But the true competitive edge in the system has been honed since 1987 by some of the sharpest minds in athletics:  the Fluid Mechanics team of technical and training experts, sports nutritionists, psychologists, sports medicine doctors, and strength training specialists.  

Today, Fluid Mechanics is at the top of the athletic consulting game.  The company’s pupils have gone on to compete – and win – a multitude of medals from international, national and regional championships.  And with the recently launched line of VisionWorks retail products, manuals, and high-tech learning tools, Fluid Mechanics now turns athletes everywhere into unstoppable competitors.

VisionWorks is Fluid Mechanics’ proprietary athletic training system.  You can think of it like a secret blend of technique merged with a pinch of strength, physiology, and motivational psychology.  Then it’s all boiled down into a simple visual learning system.

Today, Fluid Mechanics is bringing VisionWorks, its athletic expertise, and associated products to athletes, teams, and training centers across the U.S.  The company is already partnered with many health clubs, fitness centers, and teams, including some of the most recognized chains and the most elite spas.
